Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our finance team. This vital role involves managing accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the organization's financial health. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm for precise bookkeeping, proficiency with various financial software, and a strong understanding of accounting principles. Responsibilities Maintain and update general ledger accounts using accounting software such as QuickBooks Online. Process accounts payable and receivable transactions efficiently, ensuring timely payments and collections. Reconcile bank statements and perform balance sheet reconciliations regularly to verify accuracy. Prepare journal entries, account analyses, and financial reports in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Manage payroll processing, including deductions, tax filings, and compliance with relevant regulations. Assist with governmental and non-profit accounting requirements, ensuring adherence to specific standards and reporting guidelines. Support budgeting activities by tracking expenses and preparing financial data for review. Conduct account reconciliation tasks such as accounts receivable/payable reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation. Maintain detailed records of all financial transactions with precision using spreadsheets and accounting systems. Contribute to month-end closing processes by preparing necessary documentation and reports. Skills Extensive experience with accounting software including QuickBooks (especially QuickBooks Online) is required. You will be handling 4 corporations. Strong knowledge of accounting standards such as GAAP and governmental accounting practices. Proven ability in bookkeeping tasks like double-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, bank reconciliation, reimbursements and account analysis. Familiarity with payroll processing, tax experience, and government reporting requirements. Excellent proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel for data analysis and report writing. Ability to perform 10-key typing accurately for data entry tasks. Solid understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, general ledger management, balance sheet reconciliation, and account reconciliation procedures as we are audited yearly by an independant auditor. Experience working in non-profit environments is highly desirable. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently under deadlines.
