Job Summary The Accounting Assistant supports the Finance Department with day-to-day accounting, accounts payable and receivable, and payroll processing. This position records financial transactions, assists with reconciliations, processes payroll for office and field employees, and prepares certified payroll reports for construction projects. The role also provides general administrative support to the office as needed. Key Responsibilities Record daily financial transactions, bills, and expenses accurately. Process supplier invoices, track customer payments, and manage bank deposits. Assist with reconciling bank and credit card statements and flag discrepancies. Maintain organized and secure physical and digital financial records. Process payroll for office and field employees. Prepare and submit certified payroll reports in compliance with the Davis-Bacon Act and prevailing wage requirements. Maintain employee payroll records, including new hires, rate changes, and terminations. Provide administrative support as needed, including answering phones, greeting visitors, and ordering office supplies. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum 1-2 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or payroll processing experience. Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations. Experience preparing and submitting certified payroll reports. Working knowledge of the Davis-Bacon Act and Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements. Understanding of payroll tax regulations and wage and hour laws. Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial, payroll, and employee information. Preferred Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field. Construction industry experience strongly preferred. Bilingual in English and Korean. Computer and Software Skills Proficient in QuickBooks. Proficient with Microsoft Office and PDF software. Compensation and Benefits Competitive salary based on experience. Health insurance. $60,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
