The Accounting Clerk supports the accounting team by maintaining accurate records of financial transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and assisting with routine accounting tasks. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.Key Responsibilities:
Data Entry & Record Keeping Accurately enter and update financial transactions in the company's accounting software. Maintain organized and up-to-date records for accounts payable and other transactions. Assist with filing, document management, and archiving financial records. Accounts Payable Process invoices, verify amounts, and ensure timely payment to vendors. Reconcile accounts payable ledgers to ensure accuracy. Cash Handling Assist with cash handling, deposits, and bank-related tasks as required. Maintain petty cash records and reconcile cash at the end of each period. Assisting in Financial Reporting Compile financial data and prepare reports as required by the finance team. Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Support the preparation of documents for audits and tax filings. Communication & Collaboration Communicate with vendors and customers to resolve billing issues and payment discrepancies. Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and ensure smooth operations. Payroll Assist with preparation and processing payroll. Address employee questions about payroll, such as clarifying pay discrepancies, deductions, and tax withholdings. Other Duties asAssigned Requirements:
Education:
High school diploma required; associate degree in accounting or a related field preferred.Experience:
1-2 years of experience in an accounting or clerical role; familiarity with basic accounting principles and financial practices.Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) is preferred.Key Competencies:
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.Working Conditions:
This role is office-based, with a standard schedule. Occasional extended hours may be required to meet financial deadlines.Salary:
Competitive salary, based on experience and qualifications.Physical Requirements:
Frequent mobility and/or sitting required for extended periods of time. Prolonged computer and data entry requirements. Requires manual dexterity to operate keyboard and other office equipment.
