Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Commodity Specialist to join our Accounting team. The ideal candidate will have background in the Ag industry with knowledge of Commodities and will be responsible for managing the accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors/farmers, and maintaining financial records in Excel spreadsheets. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and proficiency in various accounting software systems. Responsibilities Process high volume commodity and freight invoices in a timely manner Download commodity scale tickets and upload to data sheets Match transactions/bill of ladings to scale tickets Determine commodities to accrue we have received but have not been invoiced Reconcile accrued commodities Check for vendor/farmer liens before processing payments Serve as the primary contact for vendor inquiries regarding payments and account status Collaborate with AP/AR departments to resolve invoice discrepancies Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors and managers Assist with month-end closing by reconciling data sheets Assist the Accounting team as needed Enter Invoices to Customers for Compost and invoices for Intercompany billings Handle vendor credit application requests Coordinate ordering Tuesday dinner provided to office employees & family. Answer phones & greet guests Request W-9's from new vendors Responsible for working on 1099's at year end Responsibilities Proficient in accounting software Quickbooks Desktop Enterprise 2024 along with Excel experience with formulas and pivot tables Knowledge and or experience in the Ag industry with knowledge of Commodities including purchasing High Moisture Corn, Wheat, Corn Silage, etc. Knowledge of the 1099 process and reporting requirements Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines Strong analytical skills and problem solving abilities Effective communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
