BookkeeperJob Description The Bookkeeper will be responsible for invoicing, billing, and providing day-to-day accounting support. This position plays a key role in maintaining smooth operations and ensuring customers receive accurate and timely invoices. Responsibilities Process and manage customer invoices. Review billing for accuracy and resolve discrepancies. Track payments and assist with collections follow up. Maintain accounting records and perform data entry. Assist with account reconciliations. Support ownership and office staff with administrative and accounting tasks. Essential Skills Previous bookkeeping, invoicing, or accounting experience preferred. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in a family business setting is beneficial. Dependability and team-oriented nature. Personable demeanor with a focus on building relationships. Work Environment This is a very flexible work environment where the office consists of a small, close-knit team. Typically, the office opens early in the morning, and family members manage the day-to-day operations. The founder, who is over 80 years old, remains actively involved. The company values a family-focused atmosphere where everyone knows each other. The dress code is casual, reflecting the relaxed and supportive environment. The role requires physical presence in the office. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lansing, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
