MEDICAL BILLER - IMMEDIATE HIRE
The Center of Neurosciences | Moline, Illinois | Full-Time The Center of Neurosciences is seeking an experienced, dependable Medical Biller to join our neurology practice in Moline, Illinois. This is a full-time, immediate-hire position with responsibilities including payment posting, accounts receivable (A/R) follow-up, insurance verification, and assisting with patient scheduling as needed. We are looking for a team-oriented individual who understands the complete medical billing revenue cycle and is willing to assist with front-office functions when necessary. Primary Responsibilities- Post insurance payments, ERAs, EFTs, checks, and patient payments accurately and timely
- Review and reconcile payment batches
- Work insurance A/R aging reports
- Follow up on unpaid, underpaid, and delayed claims
- Investigate and correct claim denials and rejections
- Submit corrected claims and appeals when appropriate
- Contact insurance companies regarding outstanding claims
- Review EOBs and ERAs for accurate reimbursement
- Identify contractual adjustments and payment discrepancies
- Research credit balances and payment posting discrepancies
- Follow up on patient balances as assigned
- Verify claim status through payer portals and insurance websites
- Maintain detailed documentation of all A/R follow-up activity
- Assist with claim submission and clearinghouse issues
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits
- Confirm insurance information and demographics are accurate and current
- Identify referral and authorization requirements when applicable
- Assist with scheduling and rescheduling patient appointments
- Answer patient calls and assist with scheduling needs when necessary
- Work collaboratively with providers, clinical staff, and front-office personnel
- Help ensure timely and accurate reimbursement for services provided Qualifications
- Previous medical billing experience required
- Strong experience with payment posting and A/R follow-up
- Experience with insurance eligibility and benefits verification
- Ability and willingness to assist with patient scheduling and front-office functions
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicare Advantage, commercial insurance, and managed-care plans
- Experience researching denials and resolving unpaid claims
- Understanding of CPT, ICD-10-CM, modifiers, EOBs, ERAs, and insurance reimbursement
- Knowledge of insurance payer portals and electronic claim processing
- eClinicalWorks (eCW) experience strongly preferred
- Neurology or specialty-practice billing experience is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to independently prioritize and work an A/R inventory
- Professional telephone and patient communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and assist other departments when needed
