Job Description
Overview The Part-Time Accounting Coordinator supports the financial operations of a nonprofit foster care agency by maintaining accurate accounting records, ensuring compliance with government contracts and grant requirements, and assisting in financial reporting. This position plays a critical role in supporting the agency's mission to serve children and families by safeguarding financial integrity and accountability. Duties Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Perform account reconciliations including bank accounts, revenues, receivables, prepaids, accruals, and fixed assets to support accurate financial reporting. Prepare, update, and maintain financial spreadsheets and supporting documentation. Assist with monthly and year-end closing activities, including data entry, reconciliation support, and record verification. Maintain organized accounting records, including invoices, billings, and related financial documentation, consistent with record-retention requirements. Assist with payroll processing and employee expense reimbursements as assigned. Utilize accounting and office software systems, including QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word. Maintain confidentiality of financial, organizational, and employee information. Provide administrative support to accounting and finance operations as needed. Assist with audits, financial reviews, or special projects. Perform other related duties as assigned consistent with the scope of the position.
Qualifications Required:
Prior accounting or bookkeeping experience Working knowledge of basic accounting principles Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general accounting softwarePreferred:
5 years in accounting/bookkeeping positionEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
: Some college coursework in accounting, finance, or a related field and/or equivalent combination of education and relevant bookkeeping experienceLICENSE AND OR REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
Driver's license and vehicle insurance are required at all times throughout employment.Pay:
