We are hiring a Remittance Processing Clerk (Account Clerk II) for our Document Control & Deposit Operations Division located in Springfield, IL. This position performs clerical and bookkeeping duties related to reviewing, balancing, preparing, and processing tax documents, vouchers, checks, and other remittance items. Essential Functions Under direct supervision, performs specialized clerical and bookkeeping duties related to the receipt, review, preparation, and processing of tax documents, remittances, vouchers, and related items. Reviews tax documents and batches to identify errors, discrepancies, or missing information, making corrections where possible in accordance with established procedures. Processes checks and other approved remittance items through an electronic deposit manager, Check21 desktop scanner, or other approved deposit/scanning system, balancing remittances with documents by batch. Utilizes a personal computer in accordance with established Illinois Department of Revenue ( IDOR ) and Division procedures. Maintains logs, reports, and production records of work received, processed, corrected, deposited, and pending.
