Job Description
Centerfire Systems Inc, a family owned retail store seeks candidates for bookkeeping. This position is located in Versailles, Kentucky. We started as a mail order company in 1992 and five years ago opened our first retail location. The bookkeeper is responsible for day-to-day accounting, such as journal entries, processing invoices, bank account reconciliations, payables, and bank deposits. The bookkeeper is also responsible for and assists with collection of financial information critical to the preparation of monthly financial statements and reports. We are looking for a long term person to join our accounting team. The position is full time. The work environment is low key and friendly. Description of Successful Candidate Detail oriented and well organized Effective communication skills, both written and oral Ability to work independent of daily management oversight Well versed in basic accounting and bookkeeping skills/principles Pertinent Bookkeeping Functions Prepares daily financial reports based on prior business days activity. Maintains records of financial transactions by establishing accounts; posting transactions; ensure legal requirements compliance. Maintains historical records by filing documents. Prepares financial reports. Reconciles all bank accounts monthly Verifies and enters all A/P transactions utilizing Sage software Reconcile all purchase orders Process A/R transactions Make A/R entries using data from accounting software Participate in month-end and year-end closing process Files monthly sale tax reports Requirements Bookkeeping or other accounting experience is required. Pass a background check and drug test.
