FULL-CHARGE BOOKKEEPER

Salary $70-80k

Position Overview:

Role Summary :

Manage full-cycle accounting operations specifically tailored to marine logistics, barge/vessel operations.

Key Focus :

Ensure ledger accuracy, track vessel-specific operating expenses, and support cost-control measures for marine transit.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable (AP) : Process vendor invoices for marine fuel, dockage, port fees, and vessel maintenance or repairs. Accounts Receivable (AR) : Bill clients for cargo transport and freight services, track shipping collections, and resolve billing disputes.

Vessel Expense Tracking :

Allocate operational costs per vessel or fleet to monitor profitability and trip expenses.

Bank Reconciliations :

Reconcile company bank accounts, credit cards, and marine operating accounts monthly.

Financial Reporting :

Generate balance sheets, income statements, and customized vessel performance reports for company management.

Qualifications and Skills:

Experience :

Minimum 3 years of full-charge bookkeeping experience; marine, logistics, or heavy transportation industry background preferred.

Technical Skills :

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Excel.

Soft Skills :

Strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to manage confidential data.
