Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support day-to-day financial operations for a services organization in Mandeville, Louisiana. This is a contract position suited for someone who can manage core accounting tasks with accuracy, maintain organized records, and work confidently with financial software. The ideal candidate will contribute to both payables and receivables activities while helping ensure reconciliations and documentation are completed in a timely manner.
Responsibilities:
- Process vendor invoices, verify coding accuracy, and prepare payments in alignment with established accounting procedures.
- Monitor incoming customer payments, apply receipts correctly, and follow up on outstanding balances as needed.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations to confirm account activity and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks and ensure supporting documentation is properly organized and accessible.
- Review accounting entries and source documents for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with internal standards.
- Handle confidential financial information with discretion while supporting routine accounting and administrative tasks.
- Assist with tax-related documentation and data entry using Drake Tax Software when required.
