Coast Technology

Junior Data Integration Specialist

Job Description

Coast Technology builds websites, inventory, and customer data tools for automotive, RV, marine, and powersports dealers. When a dealer signs with us, somebody has to get them live: get into their CRM and DMS, get their data flowing into our customer data platform, wire their website forms so leads land in the right inbox or CRM, and stay on the phone with their staff and their vendors until it all works. That is this job. You will join the data team and work directly with our Data Integrations lead. Half of your week is hands-on with data: pulling, loading, checking, and scripting.
The other half is implementation:
onboarding calls with new dealers, walking a dealer's IT person or Salesforce admin through what we need, chasing a vendor on a stalled feed, and confirming with the client that leads are actually arriving. You are the person the dealer hears from between "we signed" and "it works." We have filled this seat once before with a junior analyst who had no dealer-software background. Within six months he was running onboarding threads with vendors, debugging their APIs, and cleaning data in BigQuery. Within a year he was shipping fixes to our platform. We hire for how fast you learn and how much you get done. Key responsibilitiesClient implementation
  • Run the technical side of new-dealer onboarding: join the kickoff call, collect CRM and DMS details, and own the data connection ticket from "new" to "data flowing."
  • Get on calls with dealer staff, their IT provider, or their Salesforce or CRM admin and walk them through what we need: user accounts, report permissions, API access, Connected App scopes, IP whitelisting.
  • Coordinate 2FA codes and credential handoffs with the client in real time when a pull or test is scheduled. Push for Coast-owned accounts so the client is not in the loop every week.
  • Confirm with the client, in writing, that leads are reaching their inbox or CRM before a site cuts over, and again after.
  • Be the named point of contact on the client thread for data and lead-delivery issues until they are resolved. Vendor and feed management
  • Order, track, and troubleshoot data feeds from vendors such as Authenticom, ProResponse, IDS, Lightspeed, and Motility. Set up SFTP drops and follow each order through to first delivery.
  • Catch stalls early: an order cancelled for lack of client engagement, a wrong email on the order, a close window about to expire. Get the client and the vendor on the same call when that is what it takes.
  • Keep a current list of every open order with its blocker and next action. Data operations
  • Run scheduled and ad hoc data pulls from dealer CRM and DMS systems and load them into BigQuery and the customer data platform. Verify row counts, date ranges, and rooftop before calling it done.
  • Query and clean data in Google BigQuery. Write and maintain SQL and Python scripts that replace recurring manual steps.
  • Test website form destinations and investigate lead-delivery issues: form rules, Mailgun delivery, email routing, CRM API responses. Send the sample API call, read the error, fix the payload. Communication and documentation
  • Keep ClickUp tickets current with what happened and what is blocking. Post a daily status update for account managers.
  • Document every process you touch, then automate it. Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience such as a portfolio of things you built.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and at least one scripting language, preferably Python.
  • Comfortable on the phone and on video with people who are not technical. Can explain what we need from a dealer's IT person without jargon, and can hold the line politely when the answer is "we sent that already."
  • Comfortable with spreadsheets and CSV files, and with reading vendor API documentation.
Has made a
REST API
call before.
  • Already uses AI coding assistants and wants to use them more. We build with Claude every day.
  • Strong follow-through. Comfortable calling a client three times for a 2FA code and knowing when to escalate instead of waiting.
  • Clear, direct written communication. Can say what is broken and what is blocking in two sentences.
  • Treats a recurring manual task as a problem to eliminate. Preferred skills
  • Any customer-facing implementation, onboarding, or technical support experience.
  • Experience with Google BigQuery, Google Cloud Storage, or another cloud data warehouse.
  • Exposure to dealer software: VinSolutions, DealerSocket, CDK, Tekion, DP360, Lightspeed, IDS, Salesforce, HubSpot.
  • PHP or Laravel.
  • Familiarity with Cloudflare, DNS, or email deliverability basics.
  • Prior work in a dealership or in automotive, RV, marine, or powersports. What the first 90 days look like
  • 30 days: Shadowing onboarding calls and running weekly data pulls alongside the Data Integrations lead. Owns the vendor order tracking list. Posting the daily update.
  • 60 days: Leads the technical side of onboarding calls solo. Runs weekly pulls solo. First runbooks written. Has resolved at least ten lead-delivery tickets end to end with the client confirming in writing.
  • 90 days: Owns the data connection ticket for every new dealer from kickoff to data flowing. First manual data pull replaced with a scheduled job you wrote. How success is measured
  • Days from client signed to first data in the platform.
  • Number of dealers on manual data upload, trending down.
  • Tickets with no update in five or more business days, held at zero.
  • Pre-launch lead-delivery tickets open past the cutover date, held at zero.
Compensation Competitive salary based on experience. Benefits include health insurance and paid time off. In-office role at our Covington, LA headquarters; some client systems are restricted to the office network.
Pay:
