Job Description
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join a team in Louisiana. This short- term contract opportunity with permanent potential is ideal for someone who can manage daily accounting activities with accuracy and consistency while supporting overall financial operations. The role focuses on maintaining organized records, handling payables and receivables, and ensuring account balances are properly reconciled.
Responsibilities:
- Process vendor invoices, verify supporting documentation, and ensure payments are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Maintain accounts receivable records by tracking incoming payments, applying transactions, and following up on outstanding balances.
- Reconcile bank statements and internal ledgers regularly to identify discrepancies and keep financial data current.
- Record debits, liabilities, and other financial transactions in the appropriate accounting system with a high level of precision.
- Support fixed asset tracking by updating records, monitoring changes, and maintaining proper documentation.
- Use accounting platforms such as QuickBooks and Yardi to manage bookkeeping activity and produce reliable financial information.
- Assist with maintaining orderly financial files and preparing information needed for reporting and internal review.
- Contribute to accounting-related process updates or system-related tasks as needed to support departmental operations. Requirements
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting support, including hands-on work with accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks and familiarity with Yardi or a similar property or general accounting system.
- Strong understanding of bank reconciliations, general ledger activity, debits, liabilities, and fixed asset records.
- Ability to process financial transactions accurately while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and recordkeeping skills.
- Comfortable working independently and communicating clearly with internal teams and external vendors.
- Working knowledge of standard accounting procedures and financial controls.
