Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Assistant to support our Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have strong bookkeeping skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced office setting.

Full-time, Hourly, Non-Exempt Reports To:
Accounts Payable Supervisor Responsibilities Process and verify accounts payable and accounts receivable invoices, credit memos, and supporting documentation. Match vendor invoices with purchase orders and supporting documentation. Verify pricing, quantities, extensions, and proper account coding. Enter, balance, and maintain invoices in the accounts payable system. Process approved credit requests and billings. Prepare vendor checks and weekly payment packages. Respond to vendor inquiries regarding invoices and payment status. Communicate with Purchasing, Operations, and vendors to resolve pricing, quantity, and invoice discrepancies. Prepare accounts payable aging, cash disbursement, and sales reports. Assist with month-end accounts payable closing. Maintain accurate files, logs, and accounting records. Audit and maintain insurance invoices for company-offered plans and respond to insurance-related inquiries. Perform general accounting and administrative duties as assigned. Maintain accuracy, productivity, and timely completion of assigned work. Qualifications High school diploma/GED required; accounting coursework or a four-year degree is a plus. 2+ years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, or general accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Good written and verbal communication skills. Basic knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping principles. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Comfortable working with computers, accounting systems, spreadsheets, and standard office equipment. Ability to handle confidential financial information professionally. Work Environment & Physical Requirements Professional office environment within a manufacturing facility. Frequent computer use, data entry, typing, filing, and close visual work. Ability to sit for extended periods and occasionally stand, bend, reach, and move files or documents. Must be able to work accurately and efficiently while managing multiple tasks.
Pay:
$20.00 - $21.00 per hour People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply
