Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will manage a wide range of accounting functions to ensure accurate financial record-keeping and compliance with accounting standards. Your expertise will help support the organization's financial health, streamline bookkeeping processes, and facilitate timely financial reporting. Duties Maintain and update the general ledger using accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, or similar systems Process accounts payable and receivable transactions with accuracy and timeliness Reconcile bank statements and perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure data integrity Prepare journal entries, including debits & credits, to record financial transactions in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) Manage payroll processing and ensure compliance with relevant regulations Conduct account analysis and account reconciliation to verify accuracy of financial data Generate detailed financial reports and assist in budgeting activities for various departments or projects Support governmental or non-profit accounting requirements as needed, ensuring adherence to applicable standards and regulations Utilize spreadsheets and other financial software tools for data analysis, reporting, and record-keeping Skills Proven experience with bookkeeping, including general ledger accounting and double entry bookkeeping principles Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks (including QuickBooks Online), Xero, Sage, or similar platforms Strong understanding of accounting standards (GAAP), governmental accounting, and nonprofit accounting practices Excellent technical skills in bank reconciliation, account analysis, journal entries, and account reconciliation processes Ability to handle payroll processing efficiently while maintaining confidentiality Familiarity with financial concepts such as debits & credits, balance sheet reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable, and account analysis Skilled in using spreadsheets for data management and financial report writing Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform 10 key typing accurately under time constraints Effective communication skills for collaborating across teams and preparing clear financial documentation #RJAF123
