Job Description
Bookkeeper An established manufacturing facility in Chesterfield, MI seeks an experienced Bookkeeper/Accounting Assistant. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, demanding environment. This person must possess the ability to critically assess situations and solve problems, work effectively under stress within deadlines and changing work priorities. The ideal individual will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong verbal and organizational skills. Compensation will be commensurate with capabilities and experience.
Essential Functions:
- Reconciliation of bank statements and balance sheet accounts.
- Accounts payable & Accounts Receivable data-entry.
- Process monthly credit card statements including verification of receipts and general ledger coding.
- Provide support to the Head Accountant in various projects as needed.
- Filing
A/R & A/P
documents, organize and maintain files and records; provide administrative assistance to President and office staff.- Other responsibilities not listed.
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor's degree preferred; Associate degree in accounting with a minimum of three years' experience or working towards a degree in accounting with a minimum of three years' experience.
- Proven success using Quick Books.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, plus enthusiasm for learning new programs and tasks.
