Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our team. In this vital role, you will manage the day-to-day financial record-keeping processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Your expertise will support the organization's financial health by maintaining precise records, reconciling accounts, and processing transactions efficiently. Duties Maintain and update financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliation to ensure data accuracy Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions promptly and accurately Prepare journal entries, including debits & credits, to reflect financial activities in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) Reconcile balance sheets and perform account analysis to identify discrepancies or irregularities Assist with payroll processing tasks, ensuring timely and accurate employee payments Generate detailed financial reports and assist in month-end closing procedures using spreadsheets and financial report writing tools Qualifications Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role with familiarity in accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar software Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, GAAP standards, and double entry bookkeeping practices Proficiency in spreadsheets, bank reconciliation, account analysis, and general ledger accounting Knowledge of payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable management, and account reconciliation procedures Ability to perform typing efficiently for data entry tasks Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively Experience with some basic HR tasks
