As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Construction Accounting & Office Assistant who can take ownership of our day-to-day accounting functions while also helping support our people and the administrative side of our business. This is a hands-on role in a growing company. We are looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership, creating organization, improving processes, efficient with multi-tasking and wearing more than one hat. Position Summary The Construction Accounting & Office Assistant will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting operations of Lowen Construction, with additional responsibility for human resources administration and office support. The primary focus of this position is construction accounting. This person will manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, lien waivers, job cost administration, and other day-to-day accounting functions within Viewpoint Vista and Procore. In addition, this position will serve as the internal point person for HR administration, employee onboarding, benefits coordination, payroll support, and general office operations. This role reports directly to the President and will work closely with our outside accounting and CPA partners. Key Responsibilities Construction Accounting
- Manage day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Process and code invoices accurately to jobs, cost codes, and general ledger accounts
- Coordinate invoice approvals with Project Managers and other team members
- Manage Trade Partner payment processing
- Collect, review, and track lien waivers and other required payment documentation
- Prepare customer invoices and assist with construction billing
- Apply and track customer payments
- Maintain accurate vendor and Trade Partner records
- Maintain accurate job cost information and help identify discrepancies
- Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation
- Help develop and maintain accounting procedures, controls, and SOPs
- Work with project teams to ensure financial information is accurate and timely Human Resources
- Coordinate employee onboarding and offboarding
- Maintain employee records and required documentation
- Serve as the internal point of contact for employee benefit administration
- Coordinate health, dental, vision, 401(k), and other benefit enrollment and changes
- Coordinate payroll information and employee changes with our payroll provider
- Maintain PTO and other employee records as required
- Assist with recruiting administration, interview scheduling, offer letters, and new-hire documentation
- Maintain personnel files and confidential employee information
- Assist leadership with company policies, employee handbook updates, and HR procedures
- Coordinate with outside HR, benefits, payroll, or legal resources when necessary Office Management & Administration
- Manage the day-to-day administrative needs of the office
- Maintain office supplies, vendors, subscriptions, and general office organization
- Coordinate company events, meetings, and employee activities as needed
- Assist with insurance certificates, licenses, registrations, and other company documentation
- Help maintain organized company records and filing systems
- Support leadership with administrative needs as the company continues to grow
- Identify opportunities to simplify and improve administrative processes
QualificationsEducation:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
Experience:
- 3+ years in construction accounting (general contractor or subcontractor experience Required)
- Experience with Trimble Vista strongly preferred
- Experience with construction job costing and contract billing
- Strong understanding of GAAP and construction-specific financial practices
- 3+ years of experience handling payroll, compensation, financial, and employee information.
Technical Competencies:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, etc.)
- Experience with accounting integrations into project management systems (e.
g., Procore, Vista)

Pay:
$50,000.00 - $67,500.00 per year
