Job Overview We are looking for an experience and dependable Accounting Specialist to join our team. This position will have a primary focus on managing our accounts payable and accounts receivable processes while also providing support across the accounting department. We're looking for someone who is comfortable working with numbers and financial information, pays close attention to details, and takes ownership of their responsibilities. The person in this role should be someone who can be trusted to stay organized, meet deadlines, catch errors, and follow a task all the way through to completion. A college degree is not required for this position. Practical accounting experience is important to us. What You'll Do Handle the day-to-day processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable. Keep financial information and accounting records accurate and up to date. Review transactions and supporting documents for accuracy and completeness. Follow up on outstanding items and help resolve discrepancies when they arise. Assist with reconciliations and other routine accounting activities. Help with monthly and year-end accounting processes. Organize and provide financial information and documentation needed for outside audits. Assist with required federal, state, and local tax filings. Maintain organized accounting documentation and records. Support other members of the accounting team with projects and day-to-day needs. Take on additional accounting responsibilities as needed. What We're Looking For High School Diploma required; Associate degree preferred 3+ years of hands-on experience working with both accounts payable and accounts receivable . A practical understanding of everyday accounting processes. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. Someone who is organized and able to keep track of multiple responsibilities. Strong follow-through—you don't leave things hanging or wait for someone else to remind you. A high level of personal accountability and ownership of your work. Ability to recognize when something doesn't look right and take the initiative to investigate it. Comfortable working independently while also being a team player. Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Excel or similar spreadsheet software. Experience with accounting software is preferred. You should take pride in getting things right and be comfortable asking questions when something doesn't make sense. This isn't a position where we expect you to know everything on day one. We do, however, expect someone with a solid AP/AR background who can learn our processes, take responsibility for their work, and become a dependable part of the accounting team.
