Description Full Charge Bookkeeper Charlotte, NC Area | On-Site A respected and growing professional services firm is seeking a hands-on Full Charge Bookkeeper to oversee the firm's accounting operations and financial management. This position is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys owning the entire accounting function, partnering with leadership, and contributing to both financial and operational success. This is a highly visible role that will serve as the primary accounting and finance resource for the organization while supporting broader administrative and operational functions as needed. The ideal candidate thrives in a small-business environment, enjoys wearing multiple hats, and is comfortable balancing day-to-day transactional work with financial reporting and process improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Accounting & Financial Management

+ Manage all day-to-day accounting functions, including:

+ Accounts Payable

+ Accounts Receivable

+ Billing and invoicing

+ Payroll processing

+ General ledger maintenance

+ Bank reconciliations

+ Month-end and year-end close activities

+ Maintain accurate financial records utilizing QuickBooks and related systems.

+ Prepare and analyze financial reports for leadership.

+ Monitor cash flow, banking activity, and overall financial performance.

+ Coordinate with external CPA firms and financial advisors.

+ Manage expense reporting and expense reimbursement processes.

+ Oversee trust account administration and reconciliation activities. Budgeting & Forecasting

+ Assist leadership with budgeting and financial planning.

+ Develop forecasts and financial models to support business decisions.

+ Analyze financial results and identify trends, risks, and opportunities.

+ Provide actionable recommendations to improve operational efficiency and financial performance. Payroll & Benefits Administration

+ Oversee payroll processing and payroll-related reporting.

+ Coordinate with external benefits providers.

+ Assist with employee benefits administration, including healthcare and retirement plans.

+ Ensure accurate and timely completion of recurring payroll and benefit-related responsibilities. Process Improvement & Internal Controls

+ Develop and maintain accounting procedures, documentation, and standard operating procedures.

+ Strengthen internal controls and financial processes.

+ Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce risk.

+ Support business continuity through cross-training and process documentation. Leadership & Operations Support

+ Partner closely with firm leadership on financial and operational matters.

+ Provide guidance and support to administrative staff as needed.

+ Assist with various office operations and administrative responsibilities.

+ Maintain strict confidentiality regarding financial, employee, and client information. Requirements Required + 5+ years of progressive accounting, bookkeeping, or finance experience.

+ Full-cycle accounting experience, including AP, AR, payroll, billing, reconciliations, and month-end close.

+ Strong understanding of general accounting principles.

+ Experience preparing and analyzing financial reports.

+ Experience with cash management and banking relationships.

+ Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.

+ Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.

+ Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

+ Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

+ Willingness to take on administrative responsibilities when needed. Preferred

+ Experience in a law firm, professional services, consulting, engineering, or similar service-based environment.

+ Trust accounting experience strongly preferred.

+ Experience overseeing payroll and employee benefits.

+ Experience with budgeting and financial planning.

+ Previous supervisory or leadership experience.

+ Experience developing accounting procedures and internal controls.

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field (preferred but not required).
