Kessler, Inc. is looking for an accounting professional. This position entails accounting as well as controlling activities.
Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage the Company's accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. Review, verify, and process vendor invoices and customer billings for accuracy and completeness. Prepare customer invoices, record billings, and apply cash receipts. Coordinate payroll processing with the Company's payroll service provider and administer relationships with the Professional Employer Organization (PEO) and retirement plan providers. Perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts and corporate credit cards and quarterly reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts. Prepare and record journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting. Coordinate with the Company's headquarters in Germany to record and reconcile intercompany transactions. Prepare quarterly financial reporting packages in accordance with US GAAP and corporate reporting requirements. Support external auditors by preparing financial schedules, reconciliations, and documentation for annual audits and tax filings. Review and assist with the preparation and filing of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales tax returns, as applicable. Monitor compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities. Other duties as assigned by manager Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statement preparation. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and consistently meet deadlines. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams, external service providers, and international colleagues. High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
Education/Experience:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered. Minimum of 2-3 years of progressive accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably in a manufacturing or small business environment. Experience performing accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. Working knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP). Experience working with ERP/MRP systems is preferred; training will be provided. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word. Experience working with payroll providers and Professional Employer Organizations (PEOs) is a plus
Working Conditions:
Primarily office-based environment with extended periods of computer and desk work. Regular interaction with employees at all organizational levels, external service providers, auditors, and financial institutions. Frequent communication and collaboration with colleagues and corporate headquarters in Germany. Occasional additional hours may be required during month-end, quarter-end, year-end closing, audits, or other business-critical periods.
