Objectives of the position include:

• to render prompt, efficient and courteous service and maintain records relating to members' cash collections and transactions received from customers in payment for services.
• to promote services of the Cooperative and their use by membership.
• to courteously greet members and provide any information or office services necessary to meet the needs of the member.

High school diploma or equivalent required, prefer two-year technical degree. 2-3 years' experience in public cashiering and/or working with the public providing other services.

Candidate must be able to:

• perform cashiering duties and detail-oriented work with a high level of accuracy
• relate effectively to diverse membership and demonstrate excellent customer service skills
• organize work and practice good time management skills
• clearly and concisely communicate in verbal and written form to provide information to employees, members and the general public
• use computer hardware and software to perform requirements of the job
• perform basic operations of office machines Work schedule can be set or on a rotation.

Early block 7:45am to 12:45pm or Late block 12:30pm to 5:15pm. Candidate must live within 30 miles of the Cooperative's headquarters (376 Grindstone Rd., Waynesville, NC). Position is subject to call-in during major outages or emergencies and expected to report to work during periods of inclement weather. Position may require occasional overnight travel and overtime as the workload requires.
