Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic finance team as an Accounting Assistant and play a vital role in supporting our company's financial operations. This energetic position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your accounting expertise while ensuring accuracy and compliance across various financial processes. You will be instrumental in managing data entry, account reconciliations, and supporting the broader accounting functions that keep our organization running smoothly. Responsibilities Perform detailed data entry and maintain accurate records within multiple accounting software platforms such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Workday, and others. Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable management, ensuring timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections. Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis to verify the accuracy of financial data. Prepare journal entries and support general ledger reconciliation activities in compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Support month-end closing processes by reviewing financial transactions, verifying debits & credits, and ensuring proper documentation. Handle confidential information with integrity while maintaining meticulous records for audit purposes, including SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate budgeting, financial reporting, and internal controls related to governmental and corporate accounting standards. Skills Proven experience with accounting systems such as ADP, Kronos, Ceridian, An accounting assistant supporting the company Comptroller by managing daily bookkeeping, processing invoices, reconciling bank statements, and maintaining accurate financial records. Someone with a strong attention to detail and basic math skills to help ensure that the organization's financial operations run smoothly. Good communication and time management habits. High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in accounting is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and scouting experience is also a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Enter daily financial transactions and ledger updates
  • Process invoices, billing, and payments
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements
  • Track expenses and manage employee expense reports
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing This is a full-time position in-office with limited to no travel required.
Any commute outside of the main office is eligible to be reimbursed for mileage.
