Job Description

We are looking for an experienced, dependable Bookkeeper / Accounting Specialist to join our team in the office and take ownership of the day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping functions of our business. This is a hands-on position for someone who is highly organized, understands accounting fundamentals, and is comfortable keeping QuickBooks accurate and up to date . We are not looking for a CFO or high-level financial strategist. We need someone who can make sure the books are clean, transactions are properly recorded, accounts are reconciled, bills and payments are tracked, and the accounting side of the business stays organized. Responsibilities Maintain accurate and current records in QuickBooks Record and categorize income, expenses, deposits, payments, and other transactions Perform bank and credit card reconciliations Manage accounts payable and assist with vendor payments Manage accounts receivable and help track outstanding balances Maintain vendor records, W-9s, and other accounting documentation Assist with payroll-related accounting and reconciliations Prepare routine financial reports, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash activity Assist with month-end closing and make sure accounts are properly reconciled Research and correct discrepancies in the books Maintain organized accounting files and supporting documentation Work with management, our CPA, and other outside accounting professionals as needed Assist with other administrative and accounting projects as they arise Qualifications Previous bookkeeping or accounting experience Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Solid understanding of basic accounting principles Experience with bank reconciliations, accounts payable, and accounts receivable Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work independently and stay on top of deadlines Comfortable working in a fast-moving small or mid-sized business environment Good communication and organizational skills Excel experience preferred What We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who takes ownership of the books and notices when something doesn't look right. The right person will be organized, practical, trustworthy, and willing to dig into an issue until it is resolved. This is an in-office position , and we are specifically looking for someone who enjoys being part of the day-to-day operation of the business rather than working remotely.

Pay:
$58,300.00 - $74,200.00 per year
