Job Description:
This position is a full-time appointment in the Office of Business and Fiscal Affairs with an anticipated appointment in June 2026. This is a calendar year (twelve-month) professional appointment designated UUP.
Responsibilities:
The Fund Accounting Assistant provides essential support to the Finance team by maintaining accurate and timely financial records for both restricted and unrestricted funds. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented and mission-driven individual who is interested in supporting non-profit operations through sound fiscal management. This position is responsible for accounting and financial reporting related to the SUNY College of Agriculture and Technology at Cobleskill Foundation, Inc., the SUNY Cobleskill Alumni Association, and Alumni Commons, and also supports the broader functions of the Business & Fiscal Affairs Office.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications Associates Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or a related field. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong written and oral communication skills. Organization, initiative and attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications In addition to the aforementioned minimum qualifications, it is preferred the candidate also have: At least two years' experience, preferably with endowment funds, in not-for-profit or foundation setting. Working knowledge of Blackbaud Financial Edge Nxt, or other not-for-profit accounting software. Experience with higher education. Experience with SUNY systems.
Additional Information:
This is an SL-3 position with a salary range of $57,151 - $60,000. This is a full-time, term, calendar year position. The schedule is Monday through Friday 8 A.M. to 4 P.M. This position offers full New York State benefits which are some of the most comprehensive in the country.
