Job Description

Sportsfield Specialties is seeking an experienced Accounting & Tax Compliance Specialist to manage state tax compliance, payroll processing support, grant compliance, and financial records while ensuring accurate, timely completion of accounting and compliance activities. Responsibilities/Duties include but not limited to: Prepare, compile, and file state sales tax returns accurately and timely. Maintain state tax compliance and ensure required filings, registrations, and payments are completed according to state requirements. Provide backup support for weekly payroll processing, including reviewing payroll data and assisting with payroll-related reconciliations. Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies. Maintain accurate, well-organized records and supporting documentation. Provide backup support to calculate and reconcile sales commissions, ensuring calculations are accurate and aligned with applicable commission plans and supporting sales data. Monitor tax and compliance deadlines and maintain organized records for required filings. Assist with obtaining grant funding and ensuring compliance after funds are disbursed. Identify discrepancies, variances, or compliance issues and work proactively to resolve them. Support other accounting, payroll, and compliance activities as needed.

Skills:
Ability to handle confidential financial, payroll, and employee information appropriately. Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling financial and compliance-related information. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with accounting or ERP systems. Ability to handle confidential financial, payroll, and employee information appropriately.
Experience/Education:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. 3-5 years of experience in accounting, finance, tax, or a related field. Experience preparing or supporting state sales tax returns, tax reconciliations, and regulatory filings. The salary range indicated represents the minimum and maximum range for the position. The actual range will vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, prior experience, knowledge, skill, and education as they relate to the position's qualifications, and internal equity. The posted salary range reflects just one component of our total rewards package. Other components include health, dental, and vision insurance, PTO, retirement plan, paid holidays, overtime opportunities, and many more. Pay:
$55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
