Position Description :
We're seeking a Accounting & Reporting Specialist who is responsible for preparing, analyzing and interpreting reports and statements that are essential for forwarding the operation of the agency. This specialist helps ensure financial and management system data are accurate and complete. In turn, supporting management in their roles. This position requires the Learning and understanding accounting principles, building analytical skills and attention to detail are critical for longer term success in this position. Effective communication and listening skills along with the ability to build positive relationships with company personnel are equally important.Job Functions Include:
- Learns Eastern Shore's Agency Management System (AMS)
- Performs day-to-day activities such as accounting transactions, bank reconciliations, company reconciliations, accounts receivable for commission payments and insured payments, accounts payable to vendors and carriers
- Supports financial decision-making by collecting, analyzing, investigating, and reporting financial and management system data
- Coordinates employee licensing for renewals
- Creates efficiencies within the accounting department
- Other duties as assigned or needed
Requirements:
- Associate's degree in accounting
- Prior P&C insurance agency accounting experience is preferred
- Proficient in Office365 products including Microsoft Excel and Power Query
- Strong attention to detail, data accuracy
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Ability to learn and consolidate multiple sources of information for reporting
- Assertive, self-starter with the ability to influence others
- Has integrity, remains confidential and leads by example
- Professional attitude and appearance
- Demonstrates a positive and professional image
- Builds and maintains strong, effective relationships with employees, carrier personnel and key staff members to foster a positive and productive work environment
