Job Description
Description We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team in Garden City, New York. This contract-to-permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of a leading Long Island based organization. The ideal candidate will excel in managing accounts payable and receivable processes while maintaining accurate financial records.
Responsibilities:
- Process and manage accounts payable (AP) transactions, ensuring accuracy and timely payments.
- Handle accounts receivable (AR) activities, including invoicing and payment tracking.
- Perform data entry tasks to maintain up-to-date financial records and documentation.
- Process invoices efficiently and verify their accuracy against purchase orders.
- Prepare and deliver financial reports to support decision-making and compliance.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure smooth financial operations.
- Maintain organized and systematic filing systems for financial documentation.
- Assist in audits and compliance checks by providing required records and reports.
- Communicate effectively with vendors and clients to address billing concerns or queries. Requirements
- Proven experience in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.
- Strong data entry skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to process invoices accurately and efficiently.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication abilities to liaise with vendors and team members.
- Familiarity with financial reporting and documentation.
