Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Principal Account Clerk to join our dynamic audit team. In this vital role, you will oversee a variety of accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across financial operations. Your expertise will support the organization's financial integrity by managing accounts payable and auditing invoices/bills for county, performing account reconciliations, and maintaining precise records. The ideal candidate is passionate about accounting systems, possesses strong analytical skills, has a high attention to detail and good work ethic. Responsibilities Manage accounts payable processes using financial software such as Tyler MUNIS to ensure timely payments. Handle data entry with precision while safeguarding confidential information. Conduct account reconciliation and account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues efficiently. Support budgeting processes through Excel data analysis and assist with financial concepts Provide excellent customer service by responding to internal inquiries related to accounts and financial transactions promptly. Requirements Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with familiarity in corporate accounting practices. Experience working with spreadsheets for data analysis and reporting purposes; proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential especially Excel. Ability to handle sensitive or confidential information with discretion and professionalism. Excellent numeracy skills combined with attention to detail for accurate bookkeeping and account reconciliation. Demonstrated ability to perform data entry efficiently while maintaining high accuracy levels. Strong organizational skills with the capacity to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Either - (A) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college with an Associate's degree in accounting, business administration, or related field; or or (B) Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and five years of experience in maintaining financial accounts and records; (C) An equivalent combination of training and experience Join us as a Principal Account Clerk and be part of a dedicated team committed to excellence in financial management!
