The Accounting Specialist is responsible for administration of accounts receivable functions. This includes verification, processing, recording and invoicing of customer invoices as well as ensuring the company receives and properly records payment for goods and services according to policies and procedures. Responsibilities:
Organizes, and processes customer invoices timely, accurately and in accordance with organization's accounts receivable policy and procedures. Maintains, organizes, and files all payment records and supporting documentation. Posts and reconciles amounts collected to customer accounts in ERP. Reviews and analyzes customer accounts for payment progress and determines appropriate course of action based on customer history, balance outstanding and age of receivables. Communicates and follows up with customers to resolve outstanding balances and billing disputes. Works with RMA department to review returns and generates credit memos as required for review & approval. Communicates with management and sales organization regarding outstanding balances and billing issues. Provides weekly updates of forecasted cash inflows Performs account reconciliation for month end close. Recognizes opportunity for process improvement and communicates to manager to generate efficiency in the organization Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associates degree in accounting or equivalent number of years, bachelor preferred. At least 3 years of related work experience. Experience in a Shared Service or Central Accounting office of multi-unit company preferred Manufacturing accounting experience preferred Accounts Receivable combined with Accounts Payable experience a plus Strong problem-solving skills, basic account principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skills. Excellent communication skills Excellent computer skills including MS Office and accounting software package (ERP) experience desired, Microsoft Dynamics 365preferred.
