Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing various accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory standards. Your expertise in financial software, data entry, and account reconciliation will be vital in maintaining the integrity of our financial records. Duties Perform accounts payable and accounts receivable management, ensuring timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections Reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare balance sheet reconciliations with precision Enter journal entries accurately into accounting systems such as Workday, SAP, or Oracle Financials Conduct account analysis and review financial data using Excel data analysis techniques to identify discrepancies or anomalies Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes in compliance with GAAP and internal controls, including SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements Support bookkeeping activities, including double entry bookkeeping and 10 key typing tasks for data entry accuracy Handle confidential information responsibly while providing exceptional customer service to internal teams and external vendors Requirements Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with a strong understanding of corporate accounting principles and governmental accounting standards Proficiency in financial software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, Paychex, or similar systems Familiarity with accounting concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, account reconciliation, and general ledger management Strong numeracy skills with the ability to perform math calculations accurately and efficiently Experience with financial concepts like credit analysis, account analysis, and account reconciliation processes Excellent data entry skills complemented by proficiency in Microsoft Office applications—especially Excel for data analysis and spreadsheets Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
Pay:
$55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
