Seeking a Part-Time Accounting Assistant to provide support for our accounting and administrative functions. This position will play an important role in the customer billing and accounts receivable process while also assisting with general accounting and office responsibilities. The Accounting Assistant will work approximately 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with a flexible schedule . This is an excellent opportunity for an organized and detail-oriented individual seeking a part-time position with a consistent weekday schedule.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare customer invoices and or credits as needed. Three-way match of accounts payable paperwork receivers, purchase orders and vendor invoices. Investigate any discrepancies with appropriate parties. Enter accounts payable invoices into accounting software. Track hours for hourly employees. Report hours to staffing agencies. Process weekly hourly payroll. Track periodic sign on/referral bonuses as applicable. Monitor wage and/or benefit insurance deductions. Issue time cards as needed. Assist in vacation and absence/tardiness tracking of employees. General Ledger data entry for Controller as needed. Assist in Human Resources as needed. Enter information on new hires, terminations, training, and other items as needed into QT9 software. Prepare spreadsheets and analysis as requested by the management team. General filing, organizing, faxing, scanning and other such office work. Answer phones and direct phone calls and visitors to the appropriate person. Assist/Cross train as backup for Materials Manager and QA Manager as needed. Monitor and order office supplies. Perform general office duties and related work as required.
Qualifications and Skills:
High School Diploma or GED required (2-year Associate degree preferred) Previous experience in accounting, accounts receivable, billing, or bookkeeping preferred. Basic understanding of accounting and bookkeeping principles required. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Strong data entry and recordkeeping skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint . Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to handle confidential information appropriately. #INDCXL Education Required High School or better
