The City of Centerville is seeking a Part-Time Finance Clerk! Centerville is a warm and welcoming community of approximately 24,000 residents located southeast of Dayton in Montgomery County. This position works under the direction of the Income Tax Administrator and averages 24 hours per week. The Finance Clerk performs essential clerical and accounting tasks related to City finances, including processing receipts and supporting general financial operations.

Job Responsibilities:

Maintain accounting records of receipts.

Operate various standard office machines (e.g., computer, typewriter, calculator, etc.).

Perform clerical tasks as needed, including word processing, copying, filing, etc.

Prepare and posts tax returns.

Prepare and assists in the preparation of a variety of monthly and annual fiscal reports.

Assist customers and handles problems relating to them.

Make bank deposits for funds.

File and maintain tax returns.

Maintain the ability to be bonded.

Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance.

Qualifications and Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience in office practices and procedures.

Training or experience in accounting and finance.

Valid Ohio driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, public administration, or related field.

Knowledge of:

Basic accounting.

Bookkeeping.

Finance.

Payroll practices and procedures.

City and department goals and objectives.

City and department policies and procedures.

Public relations.

Office practices and procedures.
