Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the company's accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments, and maintaining strong vendor relationships. Your expertise in accounting software, financial concepts, and compliance standards will be essential in supporting our operational efficiency and financial integrity. Duties Process all incoming invoices and expense reports with precision using accounting software such as Concur and Sage. Verify invoice accuracy by reviewing purchase orders, receipts, and contractual terms while ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Reconcile vendor statements regularly to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly. Prepare and process payments via checks, electronic transfers, or other approved methods while adhering to company policies. Maintain detailed records of all accounts payable transactions, including journal entries and audit documentation. Assist with month-end closing activities by reconciling general ledger accounts related to accounts payable and ensuring accuracy in financial reporting. Skills Strong understanding of accounting principles including GAAP, double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and general ledger accounting. Experience working with a multiple related entities and profit centers is a plus. Proficiency with software such as Outlook, Excel, QuickBooks, Sage, Concur or similar platforms. Experience with accounts payable processes, account reconciliation, journal entries, and data entry accuracy. Excellent analysis skills for identifying discrepancies and resolving complex invoice issues efficiently. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across multiple departments including purchasing, human resources and finance teams. A background in general accounting or AP with at least five years of experience or a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration is preferred.
