Escape Lodging | Cannon Beach, Oregon Escape Lodging Hospitality Company is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our corporate office team in Cannon Beach. This position supports the day-to-day accounting functions of the organization and is responsible for maintaining accurate and timely financial records across multiple properties and operations. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, comfortable working with accounting systems and financial data, and able to independently research and resolve discrepancies. This position works closely with accounting leadership, property and department managers, vendors, and outside accounting professionals.
Primary Responsibilities:
Perform day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping activities using NetSuite as the primary accounting system Enter, review, and maintain accurate financial transactions and supporting documentation Review and process vendor invoices, including coding, documentation, and approvals Enter and maintain vendor bills using Ottimate and NetSuite Maintain vendor records and research invoice, statement, and payment discrepancies Respond to vendor inquiries in a professional and timely manner Perform bank and credit card reconciliations and investigate discrepancies or outstanding items Maintain accurate general ledger activity and assist with journal entries and account adjustments Assist with monthly accounting close procedures and assigned balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations Review account activity for accuracy and research unusual transactions or variances Maintain organized supporting schedules and documentation for month-end and year-end reporting Assist with annual 1099 preparation and reporting Provide records and supporting documentation for CPA reviews, audits, and tax preparation Follow established accounting procedures, approval processes, workflows, and internal controls Maintain the confidentiality of financial, employee, vendor, and company information Assist with accounting process improvements, special projects, and other accounting or administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Previous bookkeeping, accounting, or related experience required Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger accounting Experience working with accounting and accounts payable software NetSuite experience strongly preferred Strong Microsoft Excel skills Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and recurring deadlines Ability to research discrepancies and resolve routine accounting issues independently Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate degree or coursework in accounting, finance, business, or a related field NetSuite experience Hospitality, hotel, or property accounting experience Experience supporting month-end close and financial statement preparation What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their work, values accuracy, and follows issues through to resolution.
