We provide streamlined, automated real estate services in a professional, honest, and affordable way — and we're looking for someone who shares our commitment to integrity, respect, and genuine care for our clients and community. About the Role We're hiring an Accounting Assistant to support day-to-day property and corporate accounting. You'll help prepare and process transactions, support month-end and year-end close, assist with reconciliations, and keep our books accurate and on schedule. This is a great fit for someone detail-oriented, reliable, and eager to build their accounting career within a real estate/property management setting. What You'll Do Support monthly and annual close activities on schedule Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation for review Perform bank and general ledger reconciliations; research and flag discrepancies Process accounts payable within approval guidelines Process and post accounts receivable payments from tenants and clients Maintain organized, accurate accounting records Prepare routine schedules and financial analyses for management Communicate professionally with property managers, clients, tenants, vendors, and banking contacts Handle occasional local trips to banking/postal facilities during work hours Support special projects as assigned What You'll Need Working knowledge of accounting fundamentals (journal entries, reconciliations, AP or AR) Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet recurring deadlines Clear, professional communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook Ability to handle confidential financial and business information with discretion Nice to Have Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field (or equivalent experience) 2+ years of relevant accounting experience 1+ years of property management or real estate accounting experience Working knowledge of GAAP Experience with AppFolio and Microsoft Office 365 Schedule & Location Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, on-site at our Portland corporate office. Additional hours may be required during close periods, with overtime paid in accordance with applicable law for hours worked over 40/week.
