Pay ranging from $35 to $40 per hour, based on experience Consistent 4-day workweek with 10-hour shifts Three-day weekends every week Performance-based bonus opportunities Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off and paid holidays Family medical leave Long-term career stability with an established company Why You'll Love It Here Work with a respected plumbing and mechanical contractor serving the Portland area Collaborative office environment with direct access to leadership and project teams Clearly defined responsibilities and organized systems Opportunity to contribute to process improvements and operational success Team-focused culture that values accuracy, accountability, and communication Your New Role Work on-site in Portland, Oregon as the primary Construction Bookkeeper Manage day-to-day construction accounting and bookkeeping functions Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions Maintain accurate job costing and work-in-progress reporting Support percent-complete accounting and project financial tracking Prepare customer invoices, progress billing, and retainage documentation Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances Process vendor payments and maintain lien waiver documentation Reconcile accounts and assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities Generate financial reports using QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel Maintain fixed asset records and assist with cash flow tracking Partner with project managers to support budgeting and project profitability

Job requirements 3+ years of construction accounting or construction bookkeeping experience Experience in plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, or related construction industries preferred Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience Strong understanding of job costing, project accounting, and WIP reporting Experience with percent-complete accounting methods Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel Experience using document management systems such as DocuWare preferred Familiarity with payroll systems such as ADP and certified payroll reporting Knowledge of progress billing, Schedule of Values, and retainage processes Experience handling lien waivers, notices, and collections Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines Clear written and verbal communication skills Caliber Plumbing & Mechanical is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
