Job Description

Hopewell House is a 30+ year hospice institution in Portland now a residential care facility completely focused on end-of-life needs, with care for those who are dying and support for their families and loved ones. Hopewell House is seeking a capable and compassionate temporary bookkeeper to maintain financial records and interface with resident family members and loved ones to process payments. This position prepares, enters, and maintains data and documents necessary for the accurate recording of AP and AR activities, and supports the bookkeeping needs of the organization at large. This hire must have experience working in QuickBooks desktop, experience with A/R and A/P, as well as Excel and Google Drive. This position is up to 20 hours a week, working weekdays on site with a small dedicated team. Specific hours are flexible. Pay scale ranges from $25-$30/hr depending on experience. This is a temporary position without benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
Invoice and process payments for resident stays at Hopewell House Maintain the organizational QuickBooks accounting system Prepare monthly financial summaries for the organization
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. At least 2 years' experience in bookkeeping for organizations. Direct experience with accounts receivable, data entry, or other accounting functions. Experience with complex data systems, aptitude for nonprofit accounting systems, and proficiency with common data tools such as Excel. Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: No more than 20.0 per week
