Job Description

Overview We're looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Specialists to join our team in Hatfield, PA . This is a full-time, temp-to-permanent opportunity for individuals with 1-3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable, or cost-coding experience. If you enjoy working with numbers, reviewing transactions, solving discrepancies, and making sure expenses are assigned correctly, this could be a great opportunity for you. Established Traffic Control, Inc. (ETC) operates multiple locations throughout Pennsylvania, including Hatfield, Bedford, and Turbotville. These positions will work closely with our Finance Manager and accounting team to improve the accuracy of our branch and divisional financial reporting. Duties Review vendor invoices and general-ledger transactions for accurate coding Code and reclassify expenses by branch, division, cost center, GL account, and job/project Identify and correct incorrectly coded transactions Assist with accounts payable coding and reconciliations Review transactions to determine which branch or operating division should receive the expense Distinguish between direct job costs, operating expenses, inventory, manufacturing costs, fixed assets, and corporate expenses Research unclear transactions and work with accounting and operations staff to determine proper classification Review recurring vendors and help establish consistent coding procedures Assist with branch-level accounting for Hatfield, Bedford, and Turbotville Review Sign Shop manufacturing and inventory expenses for proper classification Assist with month-end reclassification entries and account reconciliations Review the general ledger for unusual or incorrectly classified transactions Help maintain vendor and transaction coding guides Support the Finance Manager with accurate branch and divisional financial reporting Skills 1-3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable, staff accounting, or cost-coding experience Basic understanding of general-ledger accounting and account classification Strong Excel skills Excellent attention to detail Strong organizational and analytical skills Comfortable reviewing a high volume of invoices and transactions Ability to research discrepancies and determine the correct accounting classification Ability to communicate effectively with accounting and operations personnel Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field is preferred but not required. Bonus Points Experience with any of the following is a plus: Construction accounting Job costing Accounts payable Cost coding Multi-location or branch accounting Equipment rental Manufacturing or inventory accounting Distribution Specialty contracting Account reconciliations Construction accounting experience is helpful but not required . We are looking for candidates who understand accounting fundamentals, pay close attention to detail, and are willing to investigate transactions rather than simply accepting existing coding. During the first 60-90 days , the primary focus will be reviewing and correcting transaction coding, improving branch-level reporting, and establishing consistent accounting procedures. Successful candidates may ultimately take on ongoing responsibilities involving transaction coding, account reconciliations, branch reporting, and additional accounting functions.
