Description Robert Half is looking for a meticulous Accounts Payable Specialist to join a team based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on a contract basis. As the Accounts Payable Specialist your responsibilities will include but aren't limited too:
- Manage the full invoice process by reviewing submissions, assigning correct account codes, and entering payable data accurately within required timelines.
- Examine employee expense reimbursements for accuracy and policy compliance before routing them for payment.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date vendor profiles, including payment terms and supporting documentation, to help ensure efficient processing.
- Coordinate ACH payments and check runs while monitoring due dates to support timely disbursement to suppliers.
- Partner with internal teams and external vendors to investigate payment issues, reconcile discrepancies, and resolve outstanding questions.
- Contribute to month-end activities by preparing payable-related reconciliations, tracking accruals, and supporting close deadlines.
- Uphold company controls and financial guidelines throughout the accounts payable cycle to promote accuracy and compliance.
- Provide audit support by assembling requested records, payment details, and reporting tied to accounts payable activity.
- Use designated accounting and payable platforms to record transactions, track invoice status, and generate relevant reports. Requirements The ideal Accounts Payable Specialist will have:
- Hands-on experience in accounts payable, including invoice review, payment processing, and vendor support.
- Strong knowledge of account coding principles and the ability to classify expenses accurately.
- Experience handling ACH transactions and coordinating check run activities.
- Familiarity with expense report auditing and identifying items that do not align with policy.
- Proficiency with accounting software and financial systems used for payable tracking and reporting.
- Solid understanding of internal controls, financial procedures, and documentation standards.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
