Job Description

As the accounting profession faces a growing succession challenge, we're partnering with retiring practitioners and thoughtfully bringing their clients into Aardvark, preserving the trusted relationships and personal service those clients value. By shifting routine work to AI, Cynch's platform gives our accounting and tax teams more time for complex problem-solving, proactive planning, and building client relationships that last. We are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper who values precision, client service, and continuous improvement. The role is hybrid, based out of our Pleasanton , Cupertino , or Santa Cruz offices. Requirements Core Bookkeeping & Transaction Management Maintain accurate client financial records, including general ledger entries and account maintenance. Manage accounts payable and receivable, including vendor bills, invoicing, payment tracking, and overdue accounts. Record payroll transactions, expenses, and reimbursements. Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations. Financial Reporting & Close Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Support month-end and year-end close and prepare financial information for tax filings and internal review. Client Support Serve as a primary point of contact for bookkeeping-related client needs. Gather financial documentation and help clients use accounting platforms such as QuickBooks and Xero. Collaboration & Technology Partner with accountants and tax professionals to keep bookkeeping and tax work accurate and coordinated. Maintain organized client records and documentation in firm systems. Adopt tools and workflow improvements that increase accuracy and efficiency. Core Qualifications Associate degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field 2+ years of bookkeeping experience Proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero, or similar accounting platforms Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management Preferred Skills Payroll processing experience Familiarity with U.S. tax regulations Experience supporting multiple clients in a fast-paced environment Accounting or bookkeeping certification
Work Environment Hybrid :
generally three days per week onsite.
