Job Summary The University of Michigan-Flint School of Management (SOM) is seeking a Finance Assistant. This role supports financial tracking, administrative operations, and special initiatives contributing to the overall success of SOM. This role reports directly to the Business Administrator and is a temporary, part-time position for approximately 10-15 hours per week. Responsibilities

• Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Expense Support Prepare PCard and expense reports for travel and hosting reimbursements for SOM faculty, staff, students, and guests. Accounts Payable Track purchase orders and reconcile accounts payable invoices. Accounting Support Assist with financial reporting. Prepare journal entries and fund transfer requests. Review faculty relocation expenses. Data Tracking Maintain the SOM computer equipment inventory spreadsheet. Track financial payment distributions and send confirmations to recipients. Office Operations Order supplies for the SOM office. Provide quality customer service for SOM and the Flint Campus. Assist with special projects, events, and other duties as assigned. Professional Development Attend financial meetings and training sessions Required Qualifications

• A current or former finance/accounting UM-Flint student. Ability to work professionally and serve as a representative of the School of Management. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel. Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Abiltiy to work effectively as a team player and independently as required. Ability to multi-task, take direction, and demonstrate flexibility. Modes of Work Hybrid The work requirements allow both onsite and offsite work and an employee has an expected recurring onsite presence. On occasion, the employee may be required and must be available to work onsite more frequently if necessitated by unit leadership or their designee and/or the job requirements. Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.
