Job Description

Part Time Bookkeeper 6-8 hours a week
Hourly Salary:
$18 - $20 Tall Oaks is looking for a bookkeeper year-round. The ideal candidate will thrive working with others as a team. Flexibility in a dynamic environment with diverse Board and Tall Oaks full-time staff is a must. The Tall Oaks Bookkeeper will interact with the Tall Oaks Management team in order to complete job tasks.
General responsibilities:
  • Full-cycle bookkeeping ○ Bi-monthly payroll ○ Weekly Accounts payable ○ Cash receipts ○ Journal entries ○ Bank reconciliations ○ Weekly dashboard report
  • Bank deposits and transactions ○ Weekly deposits journaling ○ Monthly deposit with electronic funds journaling ○ Reporting of transfers of money into accounts as needed ○ Direct Deposit of Employee Checks ○ Payments upon request
  • Financial reporting ○ Preparing monthly financials and filing reports with the State of Kansas and the IRS ○ New Hire Reporting (PAN)-W-2, 1099 ○ Weekly reporting for Full Time Staff Meetings ○ Monthly financial Statements ○ Monthly Payroll Tax Preparation ○ KDOR-Sales Tax Filing ○ Year End Financials
  • Supporter tracking ○ Working closely with the Donor Relations Council
  • Grant management ○ Experience with grant record-keeping ○ Annual contribution Reporting
  • General skills ○ Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Preferred experience ○ Prior work with a church or nonprofit using fund accounting

Tall Oaks Board Qualifications:
Must be at least 20 years of age Bachelor's degree preferred Ability to lift and move 25 pounds, occasionally. Meals are provided when groups are on-site. Applications close September 1, 2026
