Type:

full-time Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Insurance Accounting Specialist to provide temporary support to their New York accounting team. This individual will assist with financial activity related to commercial insurance operations, including account reconciliation, billing, receivables, commission activity, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting foundation, excellent Excel skills, and previous experience within the Property & Casualty insurance industry. This is a full-time, 6-9+ month temporary assignment offering a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities:

Support day-to-day accounting activities associated with commercial insurance business. Review financial activity and reconcile balances to ensure transactions are accurately recorded. Prepare and maintain billing, receivable, and payment-related documentation. Track incoming funds and assist with applying payments to the appropriate accounts. Review commission activity and assist with commission calculations and payment processing.

Requirements:

3-5+ years of accounting experience. Previous Property & Casualty insurance industry experience strongly preferred. Experience with account reconciliation, billing, accounts receivable, and financial reporting. Working knowledge of general accounting principles and financial transactions. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the ability to work comfortably with financial data. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.

Salary/Benefits:

$40.00-$55.00/hour, depending on experience. Full-time temporary assignment expected to last approximately 6-9+ months. Flex Hybrid schedule. Extremely competitive Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits while on assignment.
