Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards such as GAAP. This role requires proficiency in various accounting software and a strong understanding of financial concepts, including double-entry bookkeeping and general ledger management. The Bookkeeper will support both corporate and non-profit accounting functions, contributing to the preparation of financial reports and assisting with budgeting processes. Responsibilities Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Quicken Perform general ledger accounting and account reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial data Prepare journal entries, process accounts payable and receivable, and manage payroll functions Conduct bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations regularly Ensure compliance with GAAP standards and governmental accounting regulations where applicable Assist in financial report writing, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements Support budgeting activities by analyzing financial data and preparing relevant reports Manage tax-related documentation and assist with tax filings as needed Perform account analysis to identify discrepancies or irregularities in financial data Maintain detailed records of all transactions with precision and confidentiality Skills Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, and other financial tools Strong understanding of GAAP, double-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, debits & credits, and general ledger accounting Experience with bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and tax experience Knowledge of governmental accounting standards is a plus Ability to perform balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis accurately Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail; proficiency in 10 key typing is preferred Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data Effective communication skills for preparing clear financial reports and collaborating with team members Familiarity with budgeting processes and financial report writing This position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic environment where your expertise will directly contribute to our organization's financial health.
