The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, experience with various financial software, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently. This role offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, contributing to the accurate processing of financial transactions and supporting overall financial operations. Duties Perform data entry and maintain accurate records of financial transactions using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Workday Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing, including invoice entry and payment reconciliation Prepare journal entries and assist with general ledger accounting to ensure accurate financial reporting Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis to verify accuracy of financial data Support payroll management processes utilizing systems like ADP, Paychex, Kronos, or UltiPro Ensure compliance with
GAAP, SOX
controls, and governmental accounting standards where applicable Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures, including account reconciliation and financial statement preparation Support budgeting activities and provide data analysis for financial planning purposes Maintain organized records for audit readiness and assist during internal or external audits Collaborate with cross-functional teams on various accounting projects related to public or non-profit accounting Requirements Proven experience in corporate or governmental accounting, with familiarity in public accounting preferred Strong knowledge of
GAAP, SOX
compliance, and relevant financial concepts Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or similar platforms; experience with Workday, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro is a plus Experience with payroll management systems like Paychex or ADP is desirable Ability to perform account reconciliation, journal entries, balance sheet analysis, and double-entry bookkeeping accurately Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy (10 key typing skills) Strong understanding of debits & credits, general ledger accounting, and financial statement preparation Knowledge of tax regulations and non-profit or governmental accounting standards is advantageous Good mathematical skills combined with strong attention to detail and organizational abilities This position provides an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about finance and accounting to develop their skills within a professional environment that values accuracy and integrity.
