Role Description The Bookkeeper at Anchor Community Services will handle day-to-day financial recordkeeping and ensure accurate documentation of all transactions. This part-time, on-site role in Houston, TX includes maintaining ledgers, posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and preparing basic financial reports for management. The Bookkeeper will manage accounts payable and receivable, monitor expense records, and support budgeting and financial planning activities. The role also involves using accounting software, organizing financial files, assisting with audits or reviews, and collaborating with program staff to ensure timely and accurate financial information. Qualifications Proficiency in bookkeeping practices, including maintaining ledgers and recording Journal Entries (Accounting). Ability to prepare and review Financial Statements and support core Finance functions. Hands-on experience with Accounting Software and related digital tools used for nonprofit or small business accounting. Strong attention to detail, accuracy in data entry, and organizational skills for managing multiple financial tasks. Basic understanding of nonprofit financial processes or willingness to learn sector-specific requirements. Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with staff from diverse program areas. High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential financial information. Relevant coursework or certification in bookkeeping, accounting, or finance; prior experience in a similar role is preferred.
