Job Description
Responsibilities HazTek is seeking an experienced Project Accounting and Audit Specialist to provide financial oversight and audit support for a large-scale construction project. This is a long-term opportunity expected to continue through 2029. Responsibilities Monitor project budgets, commitments, forecasts, purchase orders, invoices, and expenditures Review contractor invoices and pay applications for accuracy, contractual compliance, retainage, stored materials, and supporting documentation Coordinate with project and field personnel to validate billed work and reported progress Audit contracts, change orders, vendor commitments, invoices, and other project financial records Prepare cost reports, variance analyses, cash-flow forecasts, and financial summaries Research billing discrepancies and support project reconciliation and financial closeout Maintain accurate, organized, and auditable project documentation Qualifications Experience in construction project accounting, project controls, cost management, or contract auditing Knowledge of contractor pay applications, change orders, commitments, retainage, and project forecasting Strong analytical, reconciliation, organization, and communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and project accounting or ERP systems Experience supporting major construction, capital, EPC, or mission-critical projects Data center construction experience preferred Overview HazTek Safety Management is a full-service, objective safety partner, founded in 1997.
