Experienced Bookkeeper Modern Day Living Lubbock, TX Job Details Full-time $60,000 a year 6 hours ago Qualifications Research Accurate transaction records management Financial records management Attention to detail QuickBooks Full Job Description Bookkeeper Experience & Qualifications 2+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience preferred Property management or real estate accounting experience strongly preferred Experience with AppFolio highly preferred Working knowledge of QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel Understanding of trust accounting and proper separation of owner, tenant, and company funds Experience with bank and credit-card reconciliations Strong understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable Ability to read and review P&L statements, balance sheets, and general ledgers High attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies Ability to handle confidential financial information professionally Strong organizational and deadline-management skills Key Responsibilities Reconcile operating, trust, security-deposit, and other applicable bank accounts Review property and owner ledgers for accuracy Process and verify management fees, leasing fees, maintenance charges, reimbursements, and other income Review owner statements before monthly distributions Track accounts payable and ensure vendor invoices are properly coded to the correct property/owner Monitor accounts receivable, tenant balances, NSF payments, and outstanding charges Verify owner contributions and distributions Research and correct accounting discrepancies Maintain accurate general-ledger entries Assist with month-end and year-end closing Prepare financial reports for ownership/management Coordinate with the CPA on tax preparation, year-end reporting, and accounting questions Maintain documentation supporting transactions, adjustments, and reimbursements Help maintain compliance with Texas property-management trust-accounting requirements Identify duplicate charges, incorrect postings, missing income, and unusual ledger activity Maintain clear accounting notes so transactions have an audit trail Join our team to contribute your bookkeeping expertise and help us maintain accurate financial records that support our organization's growth and success.
