Job Description
Accounting Specialists maintain an accurate and organized financial operation. They are accountable to the Accounting Director. Accounting Specialists are responsible for
- Performing data entry ○ Quickbooks ○ Excel ○ Google Workspace ○ Barefoot
- Completing basic administrative and clerical tasks
- Communicating with clients, vendors, and employees
- Assisting with payroll
- Drafting reports, statements, and invoices
- Tracking expenses
- Reconciling statements
- Preparing reports ○ Produce, gather, and sort information, resources, and documents
- Preparing tax documents
- Manage accounts payable ○ Verify amounts, itemized lists, dates, etc ○ Schedule payments and disbursements ○ Obtain authorization for payments ○ Verify and track transactions
- Manage accounts receivable ○ Compute and post charges, refunds, and adjustments ○ Prepare and send invoices ○ Verify and track transactions
- Identify and collect on delinquent accounts
- Resolve discrepancies, issue stop payments, and process adjustments
- Maintain security by following internal controls
- Backup data
- Filing documents
- Complete related departmental tasks
